A multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists at Advocate Hope Children's Hospital works with a child psychiatrist to develop age-appropriate therapies for:
- drug or alcohol abuse
- bulimia or anorexia
- somatic disorders
- depression
- bipolar disorders
- mood disorders
- suicidal tendencies
- failure to respond to treatment for behavioral problems
Programs address the total child, working toward normalizing peer interaction and participation at school. A strong emphasis is placed on ensuring healthy dynamics within the family, including interaction with siblings. The clinic is conducted during day and evening hours.
Psychiatric services also provides specialized multidisciplinary diagnostic services for children ages 4 to 11, conducts adolescent group therapy sessions, and coordinates community outreach and school programs.
