Advocate Hope Children's Hospital Pediatric Outpatient Nutrition Services has a Registered Dietitian specializing in pediatrics, available full time to address the nutritional needs of children. Good, balanced nutrition is essential for optimal growth and development. Our Registered Dietitian works with families to help parents optimize their child's health and development through better nutrition. Registered Dietitians are licensed professionals and are required to complete continuing education for maintenance of state licensure.

Individual Nutrition Counseling
Nutrition counseling is appropriate for any child where a concern exists regarding the adequacy of his or her dietary intake. The dietitian will perform a complete nutritional assessment of the child and make recommendations for meeting the child's needs. Together with the child and family, nutritional goals are set along with a plan to meet the goals. Follow up is done to assess progress, and a report of the visit is sent to the child's doctor. The dietitian is available as a resource for both parents and physicians.
