Sharing its campus with Advocate Christ Medical Center ideally positions Hope Children's Hospital to coordinate every level of care at a single location. This includes services required during gestation through neonatology, pediatrics, adolescent medicine and the transition to adult level care for a long-term or chronic condition.
Christ Medical Center's perinatologists work closely with the neonatology staff at Hope Children's Hospital to ensure coordinated care and transports. The division's capabilities include:
- Level II ultrasound, with colorflow Doppler
- Inter-uterine transfusion
- Percutaneous umbilical cord sampling (PUBS)
- Invasive fetal procedures
- Genetic amniocentesis and genetic counseling
- Chorionic villus sampling (CVI)
- Consultation for high-risk pregnancies
- Antenatal consultation
To ensure optimal, coordinated care, perinatologists maintain constant communication with the referring institution and the mother's obstetrician.
