Pulmonology/Immunology

The pulmonology and immunology division at Advocate Hope Children's Hospital provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, including those for children with: bronchopulmonary dysplasia, interstitial lung disease, bronchiectasis, asthma, recurrent pneumonias, and cystic fibrosis. Physicians also conduct long-term pulmonary rehabilitation and studies for sleep disorders.

The pulmonology treatment team provides:

	Home oxygen therapy
	Home tracheostomy care
	Home ventilator therapy for intubated and non-intubated children, including BiPAP
	Full pulmonary function studies, including body box
	Infant pulmonary function testing
	Flexible fibroptic bronchoscopy
	Evaluation for noisy breathing
	A broad range of imaging studies, including high-resolution CT scans, helical CT scans and cine CT scans.

In addition, services are available that address: immunodeficiency disorders, including common variable immune deficiency syndromes, severe combined immune deficiency syndromes, DiGeorge syndrome, and other congenital immunodeficiency disorders.

The division maintains a philosophy of comprehensive patient and family education for the optimal long-term management of care.
