The Department of Emergency Medicine at Advocate Illinois Masonic provides outstanding comprehensive emergency services that are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for both the pediatric and adult patient. In our main department, we provide quality care for the patient with chest pain, stroke symptoms, abdominal pain, respiratory complaints, or major trauma. In our fast track we care for more minor problems like ankle sprains, lacerations, and sore throats. We are staffed by board certified attending emergency physicians who also serve as faculty for the University of Illinois Emergency Medicine Residency program. We treat more than 40,000 patients each year and serve as a resource hospital for the City of Chicago's Emergency Medical Systems providing medical control for daily ambulance transport and for city-wide disaster management.

Advanced trauma care:
- Orthopedic Trauma - Surgeons care for acute and chronic injuries including multiple fractures, complex pelvic trauma and knee and hand injuries.
- Neurosurgical/Spinal Trauma - Board-certified neurosurgeons care for people with brain and spine injuries.
- Perinatal Trauma - Board-certified neonatologists, neonatal nurses and obstetricians provides specialized care for infants along with Board Certified OB/GYN Physicians who will care for the mother.
