Therapy Practicum
Therapy and advanced therapy practicum positions are available to graduate level clinical psychology and social work students. Each trainee has the opportunity to work with an ethnically and racially diverse population of children, adolescents and adults in an outpatient setting. Therapeutic modalities include: individual, family, couples and group psychotherapy. In addition to the outpatient clinic, intensive training opportunities are offered through the following programs: Emergency Department, Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program, School-Based Health Services.
The therapy and advanced therapy practicum experiences are a one year, 1000 hour (20 hours per week) commitment, beginning July 1 of each year. Each trainee receives a minimum of 2 hours of clinical supervision each week, including one hour individual and one hour group supervision. Training is further augmented by 1.5 hours per week of didactic/case presentations.
The practicum training program follows ACCEPT application, interviewing and notification procedures.
