What to Expect
Following a comprehensive physical examination and thorough evaluation of your medical history, a personalized treatment plan will be developed with you. The focus is on treating your pain and teaching you how to play an active role in managing your pain. This provides the confidence and independence needed to reduce pain and regain control of your life. Depending on your condition, your plan may require only few visits, or an ongoing schedule of treatment for those with chronic pain.
Easing your pain is a collaborative effort between the pain management physician, your primary care physician and you. Our pain management physician will: review treatment plan recommendations with you and your doctor; personally monitor your course of treatment; and forward all medical records to your primary care physician. Our staff will educate you on the implications of pain in your daily life and explain how to manage discomfort at home.
Specially Trained Professionals
Staffed by board-certified pain management anesthesiologists, with specialized training in interventional pain management, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center's Pain Management Center uses a multidisciplinary approach to help patients manage pain in all aspects of their life.
