Randy J. Epstein, MD, grew up in West Rogers Park and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his medical degree from Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center. Following his residency, Dr. Epstein completed fellowships in both Ocular Immunology and Cornea-External Diseases and Refractive Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, where he was the recipient of the highly-regarded National Research Service Award from the National Eye Institute.
One of the Doctors Who Make History Dr. Epstein is a professor on the faculty of Rush Medical College. His areas of medical specialty include refractive lens and corneal surgery, and the management of complications resulting from these procedures. Dr. Epstein is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, Chicago Cornea Consultants cornea fellows and numerous ophthalmologists, both nationally and internationally. In addition to being listed numerous times as one of the Chicago's Top Doctors by Chicago magazine, he has received the Honor Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the Emory University Distinguished Alumnus Award. He recently received the Senior Achievement Award from the AAO and has been retained as a consultant to the Vision Correction Center.
