
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
As a perinatal center—the most advanced designation available in Illinois—Illinois Masonic has the medical expertise to care for the highest risk moms and the most critically ill babies around the clock. Neonatologists and a multidisciplinary team of nurses, respiratory and physical therapists provide premature and newborn infants with treating such problems as immature lungs, birth anomalies, severe infections and respiratory failure. Nurses in the 10-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and 16-bed intermediate care unit provide technologically advanced care that assists the infants to grow at a healthy rate.
Nurse Midwifery Program
Illinois Masonic Medical Center is proud to offer one of Chicago's largest and most experienced certified nurse midwifery programs. Our certified nurse midwives, who work in collaboration with obstetricians, offer complete prenatal, labor, postpartum and well-gynecological care.
Antenatal Resource Center
The Advocate Illinois Masonic Antenatal Resource Center is a referral facility combining knowledgeable staff with state-of-the-art technology to provide comprehensive antepartum care for both mother and fetus. The Antenatal Resource Center offers a wide range of services including obstetrical ultrasound, fetal assessment, prenatal diagnosis, fetal medicine consultation and genetic counseling.
Education
Pregnancy and Beyond: Childbirth Education Class
During this 4 week program, parents will learn what happens during pregnancy, labor and birth, infant care, feeding options and infant growth and development. A tour of the facility is included. For fees, dates and times, call 1-800-3-ADVOCATE (1-800-323-8622).
