What is Hispanocare?
Hispanocare is a network of two hospitals and hundreds of highly skilled physicians and specialists located throughout Chicago. All Hispanocare affiliated hospitals and medical offices have physicians or professional staff members who can speak to you in Spanish about your health problems and concerns. We understand your language and culture and want you to feel comfortable with your health care.
How Does Hispanocare Work?
Each time you use a Hispanocare network provider you receive a 20 percent discount on the portion of your medical expenses not covered by your insurance. For example, if you were hospitalized and you have a bill for $11,000, and your insurance covers 80 percent of that bill (8,800), you are still responsible for paying the remaining $2,200. As a Hispanocare member, you receive a 20 percent discount on $2,200. You pay only $1,760, a savings of $440. "This discount does not apply to any deductibles or co-payments. These must be met before any discounts are applied." In addition
to discounts on hospital and doctor bills, Hispanocare members also save money on dental, eye and foot care, chiropractor, prescription drugs, hearing aids, and several other services. Best of all, as a Hispanocare member, you have access to hundreds of highly skilled physicians and specialists. The Hispanocare Provider Directory provides the names and addresses of all participating physicians. Because we are not an insurance plan, all providers accept any and all pre-existing conditions, have no limitations, and have no claim forms to complete.
What else does Hispanocare offer?
Hispanocare and its network provider's coordinate free community health events and screenings, including our annual "Hispanocare Health Fair". Members are kept up to date on the latest health information through our
member newsletter, Por su Salud (For your Health).
What If I don't have Insurance?
Hispanocare is not an insurance plan, but a program that discounts out-of -pocket medical expenses when you use a Hispanocare provider. If you do not have an insurance plan, the Hispanocare membership can save you 20 percent on your total medical expenses.
What if I'm not sure which doctor to choose?
All Hispanocare physicians and specialists are either bilingual in Spanish and English, or have bilingual staff. If you would like help in choosing a physician, we offer the Hispanocare Referral Line 773.296.7157. We assist you in selecting the physician whose location and office hours are most convenient for you.
What if I'm not Latino?
Hispanocare is for everyone regardless of one's ethnic background. You are welcome to join Hispanocare and begin enjoying member benefits and savings today!
What about prescriptions?
Hispanocare provides you with prescription discounts at over 40,000 Pharmacies throughout the U.S.
How do I Join Hispanocare?
Joining Hispanocare is easy. There is no screening process, no lengthy forms to fill out, and no waiting period. The annual cost of enrolling in the Hispanocare program is only $20 for an individual and $35 for a family membership. Family membership in Hispanocare includes single dependents living at home up to age 22. Simply print and mail in the membership application and return it with your payment. Hispanocare will send your membership card as soon as your application is processed.
