Mental Health

Illinois Masonic Medical Center has a comprehensive mental health program that helps seniors, adults and adolescents achieve their optimum health by offering a variety of treatment options and services.

For mentally ill adults requiring stabilization of acute psychiatric illness, inpatient care is available and provides intensive treatments. A 24-bed unit for adults and an eight-bed unit for developmentally disabled adults with mental illness is located at Illinois Masonic with treatment available 24 hours a day by registered nurses, social workers, psychiatric technicians and expressive therapists who specialize in psychiatry. Individualized treatment includes medications as needed, one-on-one counseling, group activity and therapy, and art and movement therapies.

Advocate Illinois Masonic Community Mental Health Center

The center offers a full range of behavioral health services for children, adolescents and adults, including alcohol and substance abuse, crisis intervention and outpatient psychiatric services, to support and care for a broad spectrum of patients.

Partial Hospitalization Program
The partial hospitalization program is a short-term, psychiatric day program structured to provide a more intensive therapeutic experience than traditional outpatient therapy. The program is designed for clients who do not require inpatient hospitalization but need a higher level of care than traditional outpatient psychotherapy. Clients may use the services of an outside psychiatrist or can be assigned a psychiatrist at Illinois Masonic.

An interdisciplinary team of psychiatric professionals serves individuals with acute and chronic mental health programs. Treatment focuses on safety, structure, support and symptom reduction to achieve individualized client goals. Clients spend five days a week in the highly structured group setting, while spending evenings and weekends at home.
