IntraLase® Predictably Better Vision. Uniquely Safe. Uniquely Precise.
The Two Steps of LASIK. If you're looking for freedom from glasses and contact lenses, your timing couldn't be better. A breakthrough technology that has demonstrated a unique level of safety and precision is now available in Chicago at Advocate Illinois Masonic Vision Correction Center. Traditionally, the first step of the LASIK procedure was performed with a hand-held mechanical device that uses an oscillating metal razor blade, called a microkeratome. While LASIK is a successful and relatively safe procedure, the majority of complications with LASIK arise from the use of microkeratomes. Now, for the first time, doctors are using a blade-free approach to this important step. A new, computer-controlled procedure called IntraLase eliminates many of the possible complications occasionally seen with the microkeratome. |
