Lee B. Sacks, MD
Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, Advocate Health Care; CEO, Advocate Physician Partners

 

Dr. Lee Sacks has served as Chief Executive Officer of Advocate Physician Partners since its creation in 1995.  Advocate Physician Partners is a care management and managed care contracting organization that includes over 4,000 physicians and serves 230,000 capitated and 700,000 PPO enrollees via clinically integrated contracts across Chicagoland.

In 1997, he assumed the additional responsibilities of Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Advocate Health Care. In these roles, he is responsible for clinical excellence, risk management / insurance, supply chain, clinical laboratories, research, medical education, managed care contracting and PHO operations.

Prior to the formation of Advocate, Dr. Sacks served as Vice President of Lutheran General Health Plan and Vice President, Primary Care Development for Lutheran General HealthSystem. In these dual roles, he was responsible for strengthening Lutheran General HealthSystem's primary care infrastructure and the medical management of the Lutheran General Health Plan.

Dr. Sacks is a member of the American College of Physician Executives and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine. He completed his family practice residency at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois, where he served as Chief Resident.

He currently serves on the Metro Chicago board of the American Heart Association, is a governor of the Institute of Medicine Chicago and is Board Chairman of the Institute for Clinical Quality and Value.

Michael Englehart, MBA
President, Advocate Physician Partners

 

As President of Advocate Physician Partners since July 2012, Mike Englehart directs the core business activities of managed care contracting, operations and medical management. He also focuses on driving improvement in health outcomes, care coordination and value creation through an innovative and collaborative partnership with physicians and Advocate.

Prior to serving as the president at South Suburban Hospital, Englehart held a number of leadership roles at Advocate Christ Medical Center including market vice president of professional services, neurosciences service line administrator and director of revenue management. He also spent two years as vice president of the Sisters of St. Francis Health System, as well as three years with Price Waterhouse Coopers, LLP.

Englehart earned his master’s degree in business from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and his Master’s of Arts degree from Lewis University. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University.

Jane Dillon, MD
Senior Medical Director, Advocate Physician Partners

 

Dr. Jane Dillon is the senior medical director of Advocate Physician Partners (APP). In this role, she oversees clinical functions relating to more than 4,000 APP member physicians.

Prior to assuming her current role, Dr. Dillon maintained a private practice, served as the medical director of the Midwest Center for Day Surgery in Downers Grove, and held a number of key leadership positions within APP, including president of Advocate Good Samaritan Physician Partners.

Before joining Advocate, Dr. Dillon served as chair of the Department of Surgery and Surgical Services committee at Hinsdale Hospital. Currently, she is actively engaged in physician payment policy activities with the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Dillon earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and is currently completing her MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Dana Gilbert
Chief Operating Officer Advocate Physician Partners

 

Dana Gilbert has served as Chief Operating Officer for Advocate Physician Partners since April 2013, overseeing APP field operations, physician engagement, medical services, clinical integration and clinical innovation.

Gilbert previously held the role of Vice President of Clinical Innovation at APP, leading initiatives to support value based agreements and Advocate’s population health strategy. He joined APP in 2000 as a PHO Director, having spent 15 years prior at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

Gilbert earned his bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and master’s degree in management (healthcare/finance) from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.
