The Advocate Lutheran General Children's Health Resource Center
At the Children's Health Resource Center, we believe in family centered care. Families play an important part in helping infants, children and teens stay healthy. We offer easy to understand health care information so you can make informed choices about your family's health.
We also provide comprehensive pediatric information to members of our health care team.
Our goals are to:
- Help children and their families understand their health conditions, and become active partners with the health care team.
- Support pediatric health care students and professionals in their care of children by providing a central source of pediatric educational and professional resources.
- Offer child and family wellness information and programs to the community.
Where is the Children's Health Resource Center?
The center is located on the second floor of the Yacktman Children's Pavilion, at Advocate Lutheran General Children's Hospital. It is easy to access from both outpatient clinic areas and pediatric inpatient units. Parking is available in the rear of the Pavilion (see map on back of brochure).
Valet parking is available in the front of the building.

Practice health care skills with teaching dolls and medical supplies. You may request to meet with a registered nurse by appointment. Kids and teens may use games and CD-roms to explore their own health concerns. A medical play area helps the youngest of children understand their care and treatment. (established by the Emily Dorfman Foundation)
Starbright World

Children can interact with other kids in hospitals across the country and share similar interests and health care challenges. (This computer station was made possible by generous gifts through the Sypen Estate, Dell Computers and Toys "R" Us.)
