Pediatric Pre-surgical Tour
Pre-surgical tours are provided for children birth to 9 yrs. of age who will be undergoing surgery in the near future at Advocate Lutheran General Children’s Hospital. Tours help patients and their families cope with anxieties and fears, and dispel many misconceptions about surgery. The tour includes an information session with nurses, time for questions and a tour of various areas of the hospital, including the operating room, recovery room and inpatient unit. Books and videos are available for children unable to attend the tour, and for those who wish to learn more.
