Advocate Lutheran General Children's Hospital shares a campus with Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, one of the top Level I trauma centers in the Chicago area. We are one of the few children's hospitals to have received the highest designation by the state as a Pediatric Critical Care Center by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Emergency Medical Services for Children program. The designation reflects that Lutheran General has the highest level of specialized pediatric critical care and emergency care services to meet the unique needs of pediatric patients.
Our pediatric emergency physicians are board-certified and fellowship-trained in pediatric emergency medicine. Nurses are trained in pediatric critical care, and many are certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). In addition, our nurses are dedicated to keeping abreast of the latest advances in critical care through continuing education programs
