meet the current sports medicine fellows

The Sports Medicine Fellowship at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is one of the oldest and most respected primary care sports medicine fellowships in the country. Founded by Dr. William Briner, the training program is focused on the complete management of the athlete, from training and nutrition, to injury management and rehabilitation, to a speedy and safe return to play. Our main academic objective is training fellows to become world leaders in the field, able to practice in any are of sports medicine they choose. To this end, fellows work in the training room and on the sidelines for the NCAA Division I University of Illinois at Chicago Sports Programs, as well as other local colleges and high schools. In addition to the program directors, fellows also work with several world-renowned sports physicians, including Dr. Mark Hutchinson (Orthopaedics), Dr. Terry Nicola (PM&R) and Dr. Holly Benjamin (Pediatrics)
