Directed by Family Medicine faculty member Philip Friere Skiba, DO, the Advocate Lutheran General Sports Medicine Clinic provides a cutting edge experience into the art and science of sports-related injuries, diagnosis and rehabilitation.
The Advocate Lutheran General Sports Medicine Clinic is a multi-disciplinary center where all the needs of the injured athlete can be tended to. Its focus is on returning the injured athlete to the playing field as quickly and safely as possible. On-site staff includes three physicians specializing in primary care Sports Medicine, two training fellows (one full-time, one part-time), eight physical therapists who are well-versed in state-of-the-art rehabilitation protocols for rapid return to activity, exercise physiologists and a sports nutritionist.
On-site physical therapy facilities include modalities, aerobic machines, a 25-yard swimming pool, and resistance training equipment. There is also an MRI center located a few steps away.
