Gynecologic Oncology is a private practice in the Center for Advanced Care that provides comprehensive care to women who have been diagnosed with a pelvic malignancy or who have benign or malignant breast disease.
Expertise focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic masses, severe endometriosis, difficult gynecological conditions, and ovary, cervix, vulvar, tubal, uterine and breast cancer. The practice serves as a consultant on gynecologic cancers and diseases of the breast for other gynecologists, family practice and internal medicine physicians.
The highly trained staff includes nurses with over 20 years experience in women's health care issues, and patient financial counselors who provide personalized service to patients.
Gynecologic Oncology sponsors a weekly interdisciplinary clinic with medical and radiation oncology physiians who collaborate to manage more complex cases. This assures patients have the best chance of receiving the highest quality of care possible. In addition, the practice participates in regular tumor conferences at Lutheran General Hospital and federally funded clinical trials through the Gynecologic Oncology Group, a large multi-institutional research cooperative. It also is active in training medical residents and students at the hospital and at lectures presented throughout the country.
