You will need to stay at the hospital for the transplant and will be there for about 3-4 weeks. You will have your own room with special filters to keep the air clean. Family and friends are welcome to visit.

Here is a list of things you may bring with you to the hospital:

  • comfortable clothes
  • jewelry (please do not bring anything valuable as the hospital cannot be responsible if it gets lost)
  • rubber soled shoes or slippers
  • hat, scarf, turban or wig
  • your own soap, toothpaste and shampoo; softer toilet paper and tissue
  • electric razor (no other razors can be used)
  • pillow, blanket or comforter
  • pictures of family or friends
  • snacks in ziploc bags

Items to help pass the time:

  • laptop
  • books or magazines
  • CD / DVD player / radio
  • hobbies: knitting, stitching, crossword puzzles
  • cell phone
