At Lutheran General Hospital, we understand the special needs of the older adult, and have developed unique programs and services to ensure that maturity means living life to its fullest. With a team of board certified geriatricians on staff, and physicians in virtually every specialty, you can rest assured that your health care needs will be met with understanding, expertise and respect.

In addition to high quality medical care, Lutheran General Hospital offers a variety of free and low-cost services to seniors including:

  • Senior Breakfast Club, a free continental breakfast event offered monthly to seniors featuring presentations by health care professionals on a variety of topics.
  • Free monthly Blood Pressure Screenings - screenings are available the first Wednesday of every month from 10a.m. - noon, at the Patient Resource Center. No appointment necessary.
  • Transportation Services - this service is available to those that live in the local suburban area. Cost is $5 each way.
  • The Lifeline Emergency Response System utilizes advanced computer and telecommunications equipment to link older adults and handicapped individuals with a 24-hour emergency support center.
  • Senior Information and Referral connects individuals with trained staff who can provide information about community services for older adults and families seeking resources, guidance and care.

Lutheran General Hospital offers this free membership program for persons age 55 and over.
