The impact of memory disorders can be overwhelming, especially to the family members of a loved one. At Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, patients and their families have access to a team of caregivers whose diagnostic and treatment expertise foster patient-specific treatment plans to ensure the highest quality of life.
Lutheran General Hospital is aligned with the Alzheimer’s Association to address all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. We offer a unique memory improvement program, called Expressions, designed to help patients and families in the earliest stages of dementia.
The Expressions program features a range of activities, including:
- Cognitive stimulation and memory games
- Creative activities and museum outings
- Physical exercise
- Socialization among patients
- "Supper Club" for patients and their families and caregivers
As one of only five hospitals in Illinois with the NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for HealthSystem Elders) designation, we are committed to providing relationship-based care to our patients, specifically, our senior population.
