It serves as a resource for patients seeking to monitor and manage their risk of heart disease, as well as conditions such as high cholesterol, heart failure and peripheral vascular disease. The center also offers diabetic counseling and provides information on the special cardiovascular risks faced by women before, during and after menopause.
Comprehensive Diagnostic Services
Lutheran General Hospital offers a full range of diagnostic tests including exercise and pharmacological stress testing, EKG, echocardiogram, Holter monitoring, and diagnostic angiograms, as well as skilled medical staff specially trained to differentiate heart-related illness from non-cardiac conditions with similar symptoms. Our attention to quality care and accurate testing has resulted in a significant reduction in unnecessary invasive tests.
State-of-the-Art Interventional Therapies
Our advanced cardiac diagnostic and treatment capabilities include three cardiac catheterization suites and an electrophysiology laboratory. Each year, more than 3,500 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are done on site to treat infants, children and adults.
Surgical Care
Our cardiac surgeons are dedicated to treating adults and children in need of cardiovascular surgery. Our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is staffed with nurses and clinicians specially trained to handle complex post-operative cases. We take a multidisciplinary approach to cardiac care to ensure that both the patient and family receive the support they need during what can often be a stressful time.
