"My child has thrived in the Lutheran General Children's Day Care environment. She enjoys her days here and I believe the positive experience has played a strong role in her development. She is a happy, confident child."
A very satisfied O'Hare Parent

Established in 1989, in collaboration with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the 6,200 sq. ft. facility is located in the O'Hare Lake Office Plaza in Des Plaines, conveniently nestled next to O'Hare International Airport.

Situated on a lake surrounded by other government and corporate office buildings, and residential areas nearby, its scenic and tranquil setting is perfect for active babies, exploring toddlers, and curious preschoolers. An open-door policy for parents allows mothers and fathers to join their children during breaks or for lunch. With a beautiful outdoor environment on a lake, infants to preschool age children take regular walks around the lake observing and discussing nature and wildlife. A walkway around the lake also provides an extended bike path for older preschool children.

Priority in enrollment is given to employees of the federal government (e.g. FAA, U.S. Customs, EPA, TSA) and Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. We also serve families in the surrounding communities. Licensed capacity is at 67 children.

Active parent involvement is encouraged through participation in: O'Hare Area Federal Employees Child Learning Center Board, Parent Advisory Council, Parent-teacher conferences, Age-level parent meetings, parent education sessions, and winter celebrations.

Ages served: 6 weeks to 5 years

Hours Open: 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Secure entry into the center

Special activities include: yoga, clay work, swimming lessons, music, creative movement, and educational field trips. These are available for minimal additional costs.

All staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid.

"As a new mom, I can't tell you how grateful I am to them for providing care for my son that I know I can trust."
