* Treatments for mood, anxiety and adjustment disorders which are time-limited, problem-and goal-focused;
* Personal growth therapies and spiritual development to address problems in living and enhance the quality of life;
* Women's services, designed especially for the concerns and experience of women;
* Treatment for medically-related conditions to help people manage more effectively;
* Couples therapy focused on the relationship, addressing problems and enhancing strengths.

Who is counseling for?
Individuals, couples and families who are having difficulties with:

* life transitions such as—
marriage, divorce or remarriage;
having, raising and launching children;
moving, changing jobs, schools, friends or communities;
facing retirement;
loss of loved ones, jobs, relationships.

depression or sadness,
stress or anxiety,
emptiness or loneliness,
low self-esteem.

Who are the clinical staff?
Center staff are experienced therapists licensed as Clinical Psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapists Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Clinical Professional Counselors.

Center staff have training and experience reflecting a diversity of faith traditions and seek to combine the healing resources of faith and psychology.

Help is provided to persons regardless of their ethnical, racial, religious, or economic background.

What kind of help is provided?
The therapist listens to the client's reasons for seeking help, carefully assesses these concerns, and recommends one or more ways of help such as:

* individual therapy
* group therapy
* relationship counseling
* marriage and family therapy
* spiritual guidance

If it is determined that other professional help is needed, the therapist will assist in making an appropriate referral. All decisions are made in consultation with the client.

How long does it take?
The time required for therapy varies with each person depending on the nature of the issues presented, personal history and agreed upon goals. The length of therapy is jointly determined by the client and counselor and may be revised as therapy progresses. Appointments are usually once a week and last 45 minutes.

Whatever the length, therapy is hard work done by a client committed to exploration, understanding, growth and change and by a therapist committed to facilitating that process.

What about confidentiality?
All information shared in therapy is confidentiality. Detailed information about confidential and privacy are outlined in the Advocate Health Care Notice of Privacy Practices.

How much will it cost?
There is a standard fee for service based on the type of service. Call the Center for more information.

Insurance coverage of counseling services varies from plan to plan depending on the type of service, the diagnosis and the provider. Insurance coverage is not guaranteed.

Our commitment, as part of Advocate Medical Group is to extend our services to all who seek them within the financial limits of The Center. Financial assistance is available to all clients who meet eligibility criteria. Clients requesting financial assistance will be asked to complete a Financial Assistance Application.
