Advocate South Suburban Hopsital hosts annual Good Friday service
On Friday, March 29, 2013 Advocate South Suburban Hospital, Hazel Crest, Ill. hosted their annual Good Friday Service in the Elizabeth Karnes Vaughan Chapel. Attendance included hospital associates, physicians and community members.
“The service offered is taken from the ancient Christian tradition of the fourth and fifth centuries”, said Reverend Larry L. Jackson, Advocate South Suburban Hospital Vice President of Mission and Spiritual Care.
The service is intended to rehearse the passion story of Jesus Christ including the seven last words of Christ followed by the gradual extinguishing of lights. Community members and associates took part as the cast of the passion play.
“A special thanks to Landau Hicks, R.N., for providing the cast costumes and all the volunteers who helped make the service a success”, said Rev. Jackson.
