Advocate South Suburban Hospital offers a variety of diagnostic tests performed by specially trained medical staff experienced in diagnosing cancer. Our professional attention to each individual's specific condition results in accurate testing, leading to the best treatment plan for our patients.
We use some of the newest diagnostic techniques to identify and stage cancers throughout the body.
- Digital mammography - with computer-aided detection (CAD) for enhanced imaging and evaluation of abnormalities in breast tissue
- 64-slice Computed Tomography (CT) scanner
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - Highly sophisticated imaging that uses a magnetic field and radio waves to produce very clear pictures of parts of the body.
- Ultrasound - uses sound waves to create live and still pictures of blood vessels, tissues, organs and other body parts. Often used for biopsies.
