Starting a Health Ministry

There is no one way to get a health ministry going in your congregation. Each faith community is unique and should develop a program that fits its own way of doing things. The staff of the Advocate Community Ministry office work with congregations individually to help you develop the best program for your context.

The Community Ministry staff will:

	consult with you about possible directions for programs,
	link you with resources to help you develop your work,
	troubleshoot issues that arise as your program gets underway,
	explore possible partnerships with Advocate Health Care sites and programs,
	help you network with other congregations or groups engaged in similar work,
	work collaboratively with you to customize your program to your needs.

There is also an eight-hour basic training available to introduce health ministry concepts, models, resources and development strategies.
