Graduation, Awards and Qualifications

Graduation requirements

1. Satisfactory completion of the clinical and academic curriculum within 3 years of the student's matriculation date.
2. Successful achievement of all learning objectives as identified through the student's satisfactory completion of all classroom and clinical course requirements. A minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required.
3. Clearance by School and Medical Center.
4. Receipt of payment of all tuition and fees and other charges.
5. Exit interviews - School and Financial Aid Consultant.

On completion of the graduation requirements, the student is granted a diploma and school pin.

Awards and distinctions
Outstanding Student Radiographer Award
The Outstanding Student Radiographer Award is presented to a graduate radiographer, in recognition of exemplary conduct and performance becoming to the profession of Radiologic Technology. All members of the DI Department who participate in radiologic technology education select the student.

JRCERT Certificate of Excellence Award and Honorarium
Awarded by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) in recognition of achieving excellence in the radiologic sciences. Faculty gives this award to the graduate who meets specific requirements and standards.

Advocate Illinois Masonic School of Radiologic Technology Honorarium
Awarded to the graduating radiographer that is recognized for practicing the values of Advocate Health Care. These values are equality, compassion, partnership, stewardship and clinical excellence. Selection is made by the faculty.

Professional qualifications
Graduation from the program academically qualifies the graduate to apply for national and Illinois state certification in Radiography.

National
The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists administers the national certification exam in radiography. On passing the examination, the graduate is professionally recognized as a Registered Technologist in Radiography [R.T.(R)].

State
The graduate applies to the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, the Division of Nuclear Safety, for state licensing credentials.
