School of Radiologic Technology
General Information

Advocate Trinity Hospital School of Radiologic Technology was founded in 1968 and became accredited by American Medical Association in 1969.

The Program in Radiologic Technology is committed to the education of students seeking careers in Diagnostic Radiography

The School offers a 24-month diploma program beginning in August of each year, application deadline is April 01.

The School is currently accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), 20 North Wacker Drive, Suite 2850, Chicago, Illinois 60606-2901, telephone, 312/704-5300. This committee establishes, maintains and promotes the educational standards of Radiologic Sciences. The JRCERT is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the accrediting body of radiologic science programs.

The majority of required course work is offered at Trinity Hospital, 2320 East 93rd Street, Chicago. The curriculum consist of 40 contact hours per week of classroom and clinical education requiring full-time attendance ( a contact hour is equal to 60 minutes of lecture time, laboratory work or clinical assignments). College credit courses are offered at a nearby institution. The school requires students to attend additional clinical affiliation(s) for the enhancement of radiologic technology procedures and to introduce the student to expanded programs of radiologic technology.

Graduates of the school are eligible to sit for certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, to be administered through computer testing. Graduates may pursue employment as entry-level radiographers performing diagnostic radiography procedures in health care institutions such as hospitals, clinics, and doctor's offices.
