
Statement of Rights of Students and Supervisors
As students and supervisors within Advocate Health Care engage in programs of Clinical Pastoral Education, certain rights pertain to both.
- The right to a program that meets ACPE and Advocate standards
Students and supervisors have the right to expect Advocate CPE to insure an educational program/curriculum that complies with ACPE Standards and the Mission, Values and Philosophy of Advocate Health Care.
- The right to be treated with respect and dignity
- Students and supervisors are entitled to be treated with mutual respect for their person, values and faith tradition.
- Students and supervisors have the right to expect sensitivity to the confidential nature of communication within the CPE context.
- Students and supervisors have the right to be free from abuse, whether physical, sexual, emotional, or spiritual.
- The right to information
Students and supervisors have the right to expect Advocate CPE to insure the availability of the following information:
- Credentials and qualifications of CPE supervisors.
- Clinical and educational expectations and requirements of the program.
- Policies and procedures of ACPE and the training site.
- Policies and procedures regarding storage and release of confidential documents, particularly final evaluations.
- Any training modalities or research related to the program requiring their consent and approval.
- Policies and procedures of Advocate Health Care and ACPE related to grievances and complaints.
