Practice Opportunities

Those who wish to enter the practice of general internal medicine have many choices regarding practice opportunities. These may include associations and partnerships with small or large groups in private practice, memberships with prepaid HMOs, or academic positions within training programs.

Advocate Christ Medical Center is in a superb position to assist residents in career planning. Many former residents of the program are on the medical center staff either as private practitioners or medical center-based physicians. The medical center has the active support of its parent organization, Advocate Health Care, which has relationships with many local physicians, health care facilities and hospitals. Christ Medical Center will welcome and actively assist anyone interested in investigating such practice opportunities.

The Christ Medical Center Graduate Medical Education Department sponsors an annual seminar to assist residents with resume writing, interviewing skills and learning how to find a job.
