Gynecologic Oncology
Morteza Dini, M.D., Director
The gynecologic oncology and dysplasia service at Illinois Masonic consists of comprehensive specialty service for early detection, diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical management, and post-treatment surveillance of gynecologic neoplasms. This includes the management of abnormal cervical cytology, endometrial dysplasia, adnexal masses, and vulvar/vaginal lesions. The Creticos Cancer Center offers cancer treatment options including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. Residents gain invaluable experience working one-on-one with the gynecologic oncologist for four months during their third year. In addition, the oncology resident works closely with support services, such as social work, physical therapy, and psycho-oncology. The oncology rotation also includes weekly participation in the oncology journal club, multidisciplinary tumor board, and gynecology lectures.
