TOPIC:   Exit Interview of Graduating Residents
PURPOSE:   To obtain information from graduating residents concerning the quality of the educational Program.
POLICY:   Graduating residents will have an exit interview as one of the requirements of their exit process.

Procedure

  1. The Director of Medical Education will coordinate an exit interview process to take place in May or June of each academic year. The format may be that of individual interview or a group session and it will be undertaken by the Director of Medical Education or designee.
  2. The Director of Medical Education will obtain suggestions from each program director regarding items that they may want to have included in the exit interview.
  3. The Director of Medical Education will prepare a written report on the exit interview, by program, to be forwarded to the appropriate program director.
  4. The reports of the exit interviews that have taken place since the previous Internal Review will be part of the background information provided to each Internal Review Committee.
