TOPIC:   Organization of Resident Physician Files
PURPOSE:   To ensure the organized and safe keeping of information on Resident Physicians.
POLICY:   Administrative and educational information on each resident will be kept by the Program Director.

Procedure

  1. All pertinent administrative and educational information regarding Resident Physicians will be maintained on file at the Departmental/Residency office.
  2. The Secretary/Coordinator of the Residency Program, under the supervision of the Program Director, is responsible for providing a place for safe keeping of these files, where the files can only be accessed by the Program Director, Secretary/Coordinator, or designee.
  3. Resident information/files must be maintained indefinitely to allow for verification of training and for credentialing puposes
