TOPIC:   Rotations at AIMMC by Residents From Other Institutions
PURPOSE:   To clarify requirements for residents from ACGME approved programs not already affiliated with AIMMC, that wish to have an elective rotation at AIMMC
POLICY:   Residents from ACGME approved programs not already affiliated with AIMMC, may rotate at AIMMC if they comply with this policy

Procedure

Residents from ACGME approved programs requesting a rotation at AIMMC must provide:

  • Letter from Program Director stating that the resident is in good standing and that the rotation is approved
  • Letter from corporate officer from the resident's institution assuming responsibility for malpractice coverage, a copy of which must be forwarded to the Chief Financial Officer at AIMMC if the rotation is approved
  • Proof of appropriate State of Illinois Medical License

The Department Chair or Director will receive the information and will decide whether to approve or deny the request based on the best interest of the institution and program and the availability of appropriate educational resources. If the request is approved, the information will be forwarded to the Director of Medical Education, in addition to the Chief Financial Officer.
