TOPIC:   Scrub Suit Policy
PURPOSE:   Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center provides laundered scrub suits for physicians where there is a need to provide sanitary attire. These scrub suits are green in color and are provided in the following areas:
Operating Room Suites
Labor and Delivery Unit
Nursery/NICU
Radiology/Special Procedures
Urological Health
Electrophysiology Lab
Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Procedure

Authorized scrub attire worn outside of the designated clean area must be covered by a closed full-length lab coat, cover gown, or jump suit at all times, including while eating in the cafeteria.

At no time may scrub attire be worn outside of the hospital building unless fully covered by a fully covered jump suit. This includes Barr Tower and the Center for Education Building. Individuals taking call from Barr Tower must remove scrub attire before leaving the hospital building.

Hats, masks, and booties must be left in the appropriate container within the clean area prior to leaving.

Individuals who violate the above rules will be reported to their Program Director and/or Department Chairperson. Corrective action will be implemented in accordance with the respective professional disciplinary process.
