Emergency Medicine Residency Program
The Emergency Medicine residency program is an affiliated program with the University of Chicago. The program is three years in length. With its high acuity of illness, 52,000 Emergency Department visits per year and designation as both a Level 1 pediatric and adult trauma center for the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago, the department offers an ideal learning environment. The physical plant includes a state of the art Emergency Department that opened in December 2002. Emergency Medicine residents rotate at Lutheran General Hospital through anesthesia, CCU and trauma services in addition to treating patients in the Emergency Department. All faculty in the department are board certified in emergency medicine. For additional information on the Emergency Medicine training program visit www.uchicago.edu/bsd/emmed/2000/index1.html.
