The answer is deeply personal and should be made with careful consideration of information provided by researchers, consulting physicians, primary care physicians or other medical personnel familiar with your child's situation and weighed along with feelings of family members and loved ones. A vast number of children do participate in clinical trials, and as a result great strides have been made in treating a spectrum of childhood conditions. In fact, thanks to research and clinical trials conducted over the years, children diagnosed with cancer today have a significantly better chance of surviving and going on to lead full, healthy lives.
