Breast Cancer Treatment
Advocate Trinity Hospital provides women with the latest diagnostic and treatment services to promote breast health and ensure the highest level of care.
Detection and Diagnosis Trinity Hospital uses a technology called computer-aided detection (CAD) for mammography. First a radiologist looks at your test. Then CAD takes a second look. By providing physicians with this extra tool, we can improve detection of breast cancer.
Our breast health coordinator ensures continuity of care. The breast coordinator helps women to schedule biopsies or ultrasounds and provides educational information and materials to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer or who are interested in prevention.
Mammography Scheduling
To schedule a mammogram, simply contact your physician to request a prescription or physician order for a mammogram. Then call us at 773.967.1000 to arrange a time that is convenient for you.
Trinity Hospital also offers routine mammograms with no appointment needed on Thursdays. Come in between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursdays. Be sure to bring your test order.
Treatment We foster an interdisciplinary environment, where radiation oncologists, surgeons, medical oncologists, pathologists, plastic and reconstructive surgeons, and a breast health nurse specialist work together to determine the most appropriate treatment plan, depending upon each patient's condition.
Breast Reconstruction Our plastic and reconstructive surgeons are board-certified and bring years of experience to provide patients who undergo mastectomies a full range of options for surgical reconstruction. From minimal operations involving implants to maximal surgeries using TRAM flaps, abdominal flaps or perforator-based free flaps, we strive to help each woman make the right choice for her individual situation.
