Heart disease is still the No. 1 killer of women, taking the life of 1 in 3 women each year. This means women just like you - mothers, sisters, friends - are dying at the rate of one per minute because they don't know what you know: heart disease kills.
“Taking good care of your heart means controlling your risk factors for heart disease, such as high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, physical inactivity, and being overweight,” said Diana Grant, MD, vice president of medical management at Advocate Trinity Hospital. “Having just one risk factor increases your risk of developing heart disease, and your risk skyrockets with each added risk factor.”
