Advocate Trinity Hospital Announces Ladies Night Out "Lavender for Life" Event
Chicago, IL – The 14th annual National Women's Health Week (NWHW) kicks off on Mother's Day, May 12, 2013, and is celebrated until May 18, 2013. NWHW is a time to promote women's health and empower women to make their health a priority. During the week, and throughout the month, Advocate Trinity Hospital focuses on the preventive measures women can take to improve their physical and mental health and to prevent disease.
As an extension of National Women’s Health Week, Advocate Trinity Hospital is hosting a Ladies Night Out “Lavender for Life” event on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Trinity United Church of Christ, 400 W. 95th Street, Chicago, IL 60621. Participants will be given information on how to keep their bodies healthy through nutrition, well-woman check-ups and screenings, and prenatal care and delivery. Participants will also learn about surgical options, including minimally invasive procedures to help shorten hospital stays and recovery time.
"Ladies Night Out is a great opportunity for the women of our community to learn how to take better care of their health. I highly encourage women take advantage of this event, enjoy a little pampering and learn about heart health," said Dr. Yvonne Collins, gynecologic oncologist at Advocate Trinity Hospital.
Dr. Collins has made it her personal mission to educate women about their health. In fact, Dr. Collins will be the keynote speaker for the Ladies Night “Lavender for Life” event and will be presenting on several topics including daVinci robotic surgery. Dr. Collins will also be joined by Drs. Joseph Thomas and Niva Lubin-Johnson. Dr. Thomas and Dr. Lubin-Johnson will be presenting lectures on women’s wellness and questions to ask your doctor.
Attendees at the event will also enjoy facials, chair massages, dinner and raffle prizes. All registered guests will also receive gift bags filled with goodies!
