Emergency Services At Advocate Trinity Hospital you can count on comprehensive emergency treatment, delivered by an experienced staff of trained physicians and nurses—The reason approximately 40,000 patients visit our emergency department each year. Our emergency department provides care for minor illnesses and injuries, as well as life-threatening health conditions. Emergency staff specialize in hypertension (high blood pressure), cardiac related emergencies, and pediatric emergency care for younger patients. We appreciate that no one likes to wait—especially when they are sick. The emergency department at Advocate Trinity Hospital was designed with thoughtful attention to our patients’ comfort and convenience. Our Fast Track care, advanced technology and facility’s layout all help keep wait times to a minimum while facilitating the delivery of high quality care. The spring 2004 addition of ten emergency beds and a new Diagnostic Imaging Center adjacent to the emergency department will result in even more rapid care by speeding diagnosis and treatment. Experienced StaffExperienced emergency physicians and nurses are trained in a broad spectrum of emergency care. All emergency physicians are board-certified in emergency medicine, and nurses have a background in critical care along with advanced pediatric certification, CPR and advanced cardiac life support training. Pediatric Emergency Care Pediatric emergency care is one of our specialties, so we treat a large number of children, especially those experiencing acute respiratory difficulties or asthma attacks. We offer skilled, compassionate care that is sensitive to the needs of our younger patients. Fast Track Care Located in a separate area of the emergency department, our Fast Track provides care for patients with non-urgent medical concerns. It also offers patient education and follow-up care. Fast Track is staffed by a dedicated emergency physician, nurse and technician and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Advanced Technology The emergency department is fully equipped with the most sophisticated technology, including high-tech monitoring equipment and a state-of-the-art computer system. The computer system enables emergency staff to quickly access and communicate detailed information such as patients’ medical records, test results and more, to help ensure timely and quality care. Facility Design The emergency department is a modern facility, completely renovated in 2000. It features 16 private rooms, each enclosed with glass walls and a curtained entryway and three large waiting areas for your comfort. |
