At Advocate Trinity Hospital, our goal is to make your birthing experience as comfortable and memorable as possible. You’ll be pampered and supported around the clock during your stay in the Mother-Baby Unit—where personalized services and amenities are the rule, not the exception.

Your care team will include experienced physicians and other professional staff dedicated to providing you and your baby with compassionate, quality care. Our Mother Baby Unit has the equipment and capabilities to provide care when the need arises.

Trinity Hospital also offers an array of prenatal care and childbirth instruction to help protect the health of your baby and increase your confidence and preparedness for pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood. And we continue caring for your baby after birth with our Baby Advocate program.

Personalized Service

At Trinity Hospital’s Mother-Baby Unit, we provide personalized care and services that focus on the needs of mother and baby, as well as those of the family—making it possible for all to share in the joy of this special time. New mothers can have their babies room-in with them as much as they like, and are welcome to enjoy visits from family and friends in their private single-room suite.

Special services include:

• Personalized mother/baby care-Mother and baby are cared for together by the same nurse, so they benefit from a caregiver familiar with and focused on their individual needs and preferences.
• Generous visiting hours:
• 24 hours a day for the father or support person
• 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for family members and friends

Mother-Baby Unit

The Mother-Baby Unit at Trinity Hospital provides a soothing setting for welcoming and bonding with your newborn. Outstanding care, compassionate staff, and modern facilities are just some of the features that will make your birthing experience at Trinity Hospital a memorable one. Other Mother-Baby Unit amenities moms will appreciate include:

• Beautifully decorated, private birthing suites, with many features to maximize your comfort
• A single room for labor, delivery and postpartum care
• Private bathrooms, complete with showers in every suite
• Comfortable recliners for a support person who wishes to stay overnight
• Attractive, private postpartum suites for resting and receiving visitors
• Secure newborn nursery with a nurturing environment, when moms need time to rest

Capabilities

Mothers and babies benefit from our comprehensive scope of specialized services ranging from quality prenatal care to advanced specialty care and capabilities, including:

• 24-hour in-house anesthesia services, including continuous epidural, for pain management during labor, delivery and recovery
• 24-hour access to laboratory, X-ray and respiratory care services
• A level II special care nursery, located in the Mother-Baby Unit, providing sophisticated care and high-tech capabilities for infants born too small or too weak
• Around-the-clock availability of neonatologists with advanced training in the care and treatment of critically ill or premature infants

Prenatal Care

Your health and the health of your unborn child are of the utmost importance. Trinity Hospital offers a full range of prenatal care and childbirth education classes to help promote good health for you and your baby. Prenatal care includes:

• An outpatient testing area for high-risk mothers, including those with diabetes, heart conditions and other chronic or emergency conditions
• Monitoring and testing services for expectant mothers including fetal monitoring, ultrasound, amniocentesis, oxytocin challenge testing (OCT) and non-stress testing (NST)
• Childbirth classes covering a variety of topics such as fetal development, healthy lifestyle and caring for the health of your unborn child
