Libertyville, IL - The Illinois Health Facilities and Planning Board yesterday approved Advocate Condell Medical Center’s application to build an Outpatient Surgery Center on the hospital campus on the intersection of Condell Drive and Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville.
As the only Level I Trauma Center and largest healthcare provider in Lake County, Advocate Condell continues to adapt to changing health care needs including the need for efficient outpatient surgery options. The Outpatient Surgery Center will meet community needs for access to high quality, cost efficient, easily accessible outpatient care.
“Advocate Condell Medical Center is grateful for the Board’s approval of our Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center,” said Dominica Tallarico, president of Advocate Condell Medical Center. “The project will give patients greater access to high-quality, lower cost care in a more efficient setting. “
Advocate Condell is in a constant state of readiness to care for trauma patients, many of whom require complex, lengthy surgeries. To accommodate trauma emergencies, planned surgical cases are often delayed or rescheduled. The Outpatient Surgery Center will create flexibility and capacity for these cases while reducing patient expense.
The Surgery Center is a cooperative with physicians, Advocate Condell and Surgical Care Affiliates to better serve outpatient surgery patients. Specialty surgical services offered in the new Outpatient Surgery Center include otolaryngology (ENT), orthopedics, urology, neurosurgery and general surgery. It will be approximately 10,000 square feet and will have two surgical suites. The Center is expected to open in early 2017.
