Chicago, Ill. – Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center has been selected to participate in the Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers (AIAMC)’s National Initiative V: Improving Community Health and Health Equity.
Illinois Masonic Medical Center is one of 29 institutions in the United States that have been selected. Participants were selected based on their commitment to better understanding and reducing health disparities in their communities.
The AIAMC National Initiative is the only national and multi-institutional collaborative of its kind in which resident physicians lead multidisciplinary teams in quality improvement projects aligned to their institution’s strategic goals.
“By participating in the initiative, it is our aim to increase the effectiveness and strength of existing programs by helping stakeholders raise awareness, strengthen leadership, improve health outcomes, foster cultural competency, and facilitate the collection and diffusion of research and data and provide enhanced services to our patients in need,” says Barbra White, Director of Medical Education and Medical Research at Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
