OAK BROOK, Ill., Aug. 4, 2026 — Advocate Health Care hospitals earned widespread recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 Best Hospitals rankings, highlighting the organization’s commitment to delivering high-quality care and exceptional clinical outcomes across the Chicago area and beyond.
Seven of the health system’s hospitals ranked among the Top 20 in Illinois:
- No. 4 – Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn
- No. 8 – Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge
- No. 10 – Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington
- Tied at No. 13 – Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago and Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago/Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest
- Tied at No. 19 – Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove

Advocate Health Care hospitals also earned significant recognition for specialty care, receiving a combined 84 high performing ratings for procedures and conditions, as well as five nationally ranked adult specialties. Advocate Christ Medical Center earned four Top 50 national rankings, including Obstetrics and Gynecology (No. 19), Pulmonology and Lung Surgery (No. 42), Diabetes and Endocrinology (No. 43), and Cardiology, Heart & Vascular (No. 44). Advocate Lutheran General Hospital earned one Top 50 national ranking in Orthopedics (No. 34).

New this year, U.S. News introduced state and metropolitan specialty rankings for cardiology, orthopedics, rehabilitation and cancer care, helping patients identify leading specialty programs close to home. Advocate Health Care hospitals earned eight state specialty rankings:

Advocate Health Care hospitals contributed substantially to Charlotte, North Carolina-based Advocate Health’s combined 204 high-performing ratings for procedures and conditions and 19 high-performing specialty designations, signifying top-decile performance nationally.
For the 2026-2027 rankings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals nationwide across adult specialties, procedures and conditions. Hospitals recognized as “high performing” demonstrated clinical outcomes significantly better than the national average.
