Chicago, Ill. — Advocate Aurora Health, a leading employer in the Midwest, today was awarded a 2018 Top Workplaces honor by the Chicago Tribune.
The newspaper defines a Top Workplace as an “organization that is successful because its employees enjoy their work, embrace their mission and feel like valued teammates.”
This is the first Top Workplace recognition for Advocate Aurora Health since Advocate Health Care and Aurora Health Care merged in April 2018. Advocate is a previous six-time winner of the Tribune accolade, and Aurora is an eight-time winner of the Top Workplace recognition by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, most recently in 2018.
“This recognition reflects the unwavering commitment of our 70,000 team members, physicians and nurses who help people live well,” said Jim Skogsbergh, President and CEO of Advocate Aurora Health. “We’re grateful to everyone in our Advocate Aurora Health family for their role in achieving this honor and their dedication to our values of excellence, compassion and respect.”
“Our leadership team is committed to building on this success – to continue to attract and retain top talent that benefits our patients and communities and inspires each other to deliver compassionate, high quality care in the safest possible environment,” said Nick Turkal, MD, President and CEO of Advocate Aurora Health.”
The Top Workplaces list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC (formerly WorkplaceDynamics). The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution and connection, among others.
“Becoming a Top Workplace isn’t something organizations can buy,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”
