"When we brought our health systems together, we pledged that doing so would elevate care for our patients — and today, less than three years later, Advocate Health now leads Illinois, North Carolina, and Wisconsin with the most hospitals recognized in U.S. News & World Report’s ‘Best Hospital’ rankings," said Eugene Woods, CEO of Advocate Health. "We take immense pride in the leading-edge care our teammates provide — from the over 100,000 cardiology procedures and 40,000 new cancer cases we treat each year, to the most complex medical conditions we help solve — in every community we serve, from the most urban to the most rural.”
Advocate Health is also home to two “Best Regional Hospitals for Community Access,” which are hospitals top-rated for caring for patients in all socioeconomic groups in the community, while maintaining a high-level of care. Those hospitals are Advocate Christ and Advocate Trinity.
In all, Charlotte-based Advocate Health has 29 award-winning hospitals on U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-26 “Best Hospitals” list for adult specialties. In addition, the enterprise has 31 “High Performing” specialty designations, signifying top 10% performance and 209 “High Performing” for procedures and conditions.
The 2025-2026 “Best Children’s Hospitals” rankings will be shared later this year. Advocate Children’s Hospital and Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital were most recently recognized with a total of 11 combined U.S. News & World Report national rankings for pediatric specialties.
U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions for its “Best Hospitals” designation; only one-third of them earned an award. To determine the best hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care.
