In 2024, Advocate Health Care contributed $1,473,179,000 million in charitable care and services. To respond to our communities’ unique needs, we sponsored numerous programs and services including, as examples, behavioral health services, school-based health care, health and wellness screenings, hospital and community food banks, and much, much more.

Charity care and other uncompensated costs: $1,282,803,000
Care provided at no cost to the patient, subsidized or without full reimbursements from Medicare, Medicaid, or other government-sponsored programs.
Subsidized Health Services: $25,047,000
Services that respond to unique community needs, including trauma services, behavioral health services, health screenings, immunization programs, school-based health care, and other community outreach programs.
Health Professional Education: $139,852,000
Education to train physicians, nurses, radiology technicians, physical therapists, and a host of other highly skilled health care professionals.
Volunteer Services: $3,249,000
Services provided by hospital workers who volunteer in their communities and by community members who volunteer at Advocate Health Care hospitals in Illinois.
Language Assistance Services: $17,602,000
Interpreter services and translation for signage, forms, brochures, patient education materials, and information in languages other than English.
Donations: $4,626,000
Contributions of equipment, supplies, meeting and clinic space, and other assistance to community groups.
