Advocate Bethany Community Health Fund grantees

The Bethany Fund has awarded more than $9 million to local organizations that share in our collective mission to promote health and wellness and address health disparities and their determinants on Chicago's West Side. It continues to be a great honor and privilege to award grants to local nonprofit organizations that work toward the advancement of Advocate's health care ministry.

Austin

School Dropout Prevention

To support the Adopt-A-Student Program that provides scholarship assistance to students at Christ the King.

School Dropout Prevention

To support one-to-one tutoring for youth in grades K - 12 in the Austin community.

Violence Prevention

To support street outreach and supportive services that apply the principles and practices of Kingian nonviolence to reduce shootings and homicides in the Austin community.

Garfield Park

To support the Nettie Bailey Student Achievement Program, which provides homework assistance, enrichment programs, and high school readiness workshops for students in Garfield Park.

To support the teen docent program, which provides STEM training and academic support to Al Raby High School students while teaching them how to conduct tours of the Conservatory for student groups.

To support the high school’s partnership with Umoja to teach restorative justice principles to staff and students so they learn skills for de-escalating and avoiding cycles of violence in their lives and inside the school.

To support the Family Literacy Program, which prevents high school dropout and promotes access to education for young students who are parents by providing free and reliable on-site childcare.

To support the Village Keepers project, a leadership development initiative that provides training for residents and students on self-awareness, self-care and how to address personal trauma to reduce conflicts in the neighborhood.

To enhance services for the existing dropout prevention program for students who are placed on the truancy watch list and are at-risk of dropping out of school.
